BHSH System, the newly merged health system containing Spectrum Health and Beaumont Health, promoted Kristine Donahue to president of Beaumont’s hospitals in Taylor, Trenton and Wayne.

Donahue, 56, replaces Tammy Scarborough in the role. Scarborough left Beaumont in March to become the statewide region president for UNC Health in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Donahue previously served as the chief operating officer for the three downriver hospitals. She began her career at Beaumont as a staff nurse at the Dearborn hospital and later became chief nursing officer. She remains a registered nurse.

“I care so much about this region because I was born and raised in the downriver area.” Donahue said in a press release. “I’ve lived here my entire life. It’s also the place where my husband and I raised our two daughters. I am honored to serve as president of these three hospital campuses.”

Beaumont and Spectrum merged on Feb. 1 to create the state’s largest health system with 12 hospitals and roughly 60,000 employees.
