Cleveland Clinic has opened the doors of its new hospital in central London, the latest international location for the health system’s expanding global footprint.
Cleveland Clinic London offers a global network of physicians and specialists to deliver the Clinic’s best practices and core values, according to a news release. Its doctor-led model of care is based on research and education.
The 184-bed hospital, which opened Tuesday, March 29, is the health system’s second in London, following the Cleveland Clinic Portland Place Outpatient Centre. The six-story, 28,000-square foot outpatient facility opened in September 2021 at Portland Place in the Harley Street Medical Area, where outpatient services will continue to be offered.
The new hospital, located at 33 Grosvenor Place, will offer a full range of medical subspecialties, with a focus on heart & vascular, digestive disease, neurosciences and orthopedics.
Supported by an acute admissions unit and 24/7 intensive care specialists in the ICU, Cleveland Clinic London can care for a complex patient population, according to the release, which notes the hospital will also offer comprehensive services for imaging, labs and interventional radiology.
The eight-story facility features 29 ICU beds and eight operating theaters, a 41-bed neurological rehabilitation ward and a staff of about 1,150 caregivers, according to the release.

With the opening of Cleveland Clinic London, we are extending our unique model of care to more patients than ever.”

Cleveland Clinic London is equipped with advanced medical and surgical technologies, including, according to the release: innovative laser and robotic surgery capabilities; minimally invasive procedures, such as transcatheter aortic valve implantations (TAVI), of which the Clinic was an early pioneer; intraoperative imaging for brain and spinal cord disorders, a leading tool in preventing reoperations; and a 41-bed neuro-rehabilitation suite with technologically advanced robotic equipment.
Cleveland Clinic London is also the first U.K. hospital to use advanced technology such as pharmacy barcoding and robot-powered medicine administration tracking, according to the release, which notes this offers an added level of safety in medicine delivery.

Since 2004, the Clinic has required all clinical specialties to collect and publish comprehensive data annually. In 2008, it began disclosing its clinicians’ industry relationships, and in 2015, the Clinic began displaying patients’ ratings and comments about the care they receive, according to the release. Similarly, Cleveland Clinic London will report data and outcomes to key U.K. national registries and will publish detailed information on its treatment outcomes in the interest of helping patients make informed decisions about their care options.
Cleveland Clinic London welcomes bookings from eligible members covered through all major domestic and international insurers, self-pay and embassy-sponsored patients, according to the release.
