IND vs SL 2nd Test Live: 18 wickets, Iyer’s 92 highlight Day 1 at Bengaluru


2nd Test Highlights: The will be taking on the in the second and final Test match of the two-match Test series from March 12 onwards at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The match, a day-night affair, would be played with the Pink ball. India won the first Test by a huge margin of an innings and 222 runs and courtesy of that have an unassailable 1-0 lead in the series.


India miles ahead on Day 1 of 2nd Ind vs Sl Test

The Indian team has its noses well in front at the end of the first day of the second Test at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as it has a lead of 166 runs and has taken six Sri Lankan wickets in the last session with the visitors scoring only 86 runs in reply to India’s 252. In total 16 wickets fell on Day 1, which is the most for any pink ball Test so far. 


Shreyas Iyer’s 92 takes India to 252

Earlier in the day, India finished their innings at 252 all thanks to a brilliant 92 from which he scored in just 98 balls. All other Indian batters were not able to cope with the spin that the pitch offered. Rishabh Pant scored 39 off 26 balls and apart from him and Iyer, Hanuma Vihari, who scored 31 was the only Indian batter that seemed like getting the hang of the pitch by any stretch.

For Sri Lanka, spinners Praveen Jayawickrama and Lasith Embuldeniya picked three wickets each after going for a lot of runs.
