Live news updates: Russia’s defence ministry published video on Wednesday that it said showed a column of tanks and military vehicles leaving annexed Crimea across a railway bridge after drills, adding that some troops would also return to their permanent bases.

The West was skeptical about Moscow’s actions. Britain has thus far not seen any evidence that is withdrawing troops from positions near the Ukrainian border, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said on Wednesday.

Composer Bappi Lahiri, who was famous for his disco beats and singing, died in a hospital in Mumbai Monday night while being treated for “multiple health issues”. He was 69.

“He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight,” Dr Deepak Namjoshi, director of CritiCare hospital, told PTI.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Tuesday made it voluntary for India Inc to have a separate chairperson and managing director (MD)/chief executive officer (CEO). The move comes weeks ahead of the April 1, 2022 deadline by which the top 500 listed companies by market value had to install two separate, and unrelated, persons as chairman and MD/CEO.
