Four-time NBA Champion and two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry has entered the spirits industry with the launch of Gentleman’s Cut Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Years in the making, this fine-aged bourbon is distilled, aged and bottled by Game Changer Distillery, founded in 1833 in Boone County, KY, located on the Kentucky Craft Bourbon Trail.

Motivated by his passion for premium bourbon, Curry was intimately involved in every step of the process, from the manufacturing, blending and aging to the packaging and marketing efforts. The label features a personal Curry message:

“I’ve learned over the years that life is best enjoyed in the close company of others. It’s those moments of celebrating a milestone, enjoying endless laughter in the evening, or simply an unpredictable night of carrying on that makes for a memory you can always reflect on.

I’ve long found that these unforgettable evenings are often best enjoyed with a rich and nuanced Bourbon in hand, which is why I’m proud to have helped carefully craft a new signature Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Aged at least 5 years and helmed in Boone County, our masterful mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley delivers a seamless sip of honey, fresh vanilla bean, and rich caramel on the palate. The rye element engages earthy and spicy notes, while the dash of barley offers bold touches of cocoa and toast. At 90 proof, this whiskey is polished and smooth.

We hope you enjoy this special bottle of Bourbon that I’m proud to put my stamp on, as you bridge connections, bring people together and enjoy life’s greatest pleasures. Like Gentleman.”

Curry partnered with John Schwartz of Amuse Bouche Winery to form a joint venture with Boone County Distilling Co.

Curry partnered with John Schwartz (owner of highly acclaimed Amuse Bouche Winery in Napa Valley) to form a joint venture with Boone County Distilling Co. “In close collaboration with Stephen, we produced a high-quality aged bourbon offered at a great value that will resonate with bourbon connoisseurs and help grow the craft bourbon category to our global audience,” said Schwartz.

Distilled in 500-gallon copper pot stills, and aged 5-7 years in charred new white oak barrels,  Gentleman’s Cut is full-bodied with a complex aromatic profile, and flavors of cinnamon, seared caramel and sweet toasted chestnut. The name—illustrative of a truly fine spirit—hints at Curry’s skillful movement on and off the court.

Added Curry, “Celebrations take on many different forms, from intimate gatherings to major milestones, and at the center of each memorable moment is a spirit rooted in history and tradition. I’m proud to have helped carefully craft a new signature Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Gentleman’s Cut. This rich, complex and bold bourbon is the perfect offering to commemorate life’s great occasions, and will be part of a raised-glass toasting moment in the lives of my fans, friends and family.”

Gentleman’s Cut has signed a national distribution agreement with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. Internationally, China Duty Free Group, which operates more than 200 stores in 70 cities, is among a select group of importers establishing the brand overseas.

The suggested retail price for Gentleman’s Cut is $79.99 per 750ml.
